Taking Pictures at Temple Square

Della and I took the girls to Temple Square for a picture shoot with all the beautiful spring flowers. We all had a blast!! It has been hard to narrow down all the pictures, but here are a "few."

There are tons of pictures where L was just not cooperating. This is an exceptionally good one! :-)

We had a picnic lunch before heading home.

Easter Sunday

Maybe I should begin by saying that Easter didn't quite go as planned, but it was still good anyway. Due to the nature of both our callings, by the time we get home in the mid afternoon, David and I are both exhausted. Today everyone was even more exhausted than usual, and everyone fell asleep but me. Isn't this picture so cute?!! :-)

Once everyone woke up, we had an Easter egg hunt with the girls in our living room. They got quite a kick out of it.

Instead of giving them candy, we gave them flowers. They really liked that. (Although maybe if they knew that it was instead of candy, they would have objected.) :-)

After the Easter egg hunt, we had dinner. You will never believe it, but this is a picture of our dinner. I know, its just a little bit strange. :-) This is what L REALLY wanted for dinner!! Throughout the whole Easter egg hunt, she kept asking me, "Can we eat them now?" And since it was so late, we did it. We also had strawberries and apples.

M started getting a bit upset about taking the shells off her egg. So she decided to put them back on.

Here you can see all the pieces that she put back on. Funny girl! :-) (Have I mentioned that she is OCD? Maybe I should do a blog entry about that sometime.)

However plain dinner might have been, our special Easter dessert made up for it completely!! :-) We had homemade chocolate cake, made from freshly ground whole wheat flour, topped with whipped cream and perfectly ripe strawberries! MmmmmMMM!!!!! I think this is our new favorite dessert! :-)

Afterwards, we went on a walk and admired all the spring flowers that are in bloom.

And just for kicks, here is a picture from last Easter. My, how they have grown!!

Decorating Easter Eggs

We decorated Easter eggs today, with Aunt Stephanie and Aunt Della. Both L and M had tons of fun!

L deviated just a bit from last year's style. This first picture is from last Easter. As I am sure you guessed, hers are on the right. :-)

This is from this year, with L's eggs on the left.

And here is M with her eggs. For the most part, she picked out the colors she wanted to use. M's favorite part was stirring the eggs while they were in the dye. It was a little bit nerve-wracking for me, trying to contain the splashing dye to just the table and NOT the carpeted floor. (Whoever decided that the dining room should be carpeted anyway??!) But a girl is only one once, and she enjoyed every minute of it. :-) Oh, and notice the cracked eggs in the picture above? Those are M's. :-) Every time she put an egg in the mug of dye, we would hear another crack. And then another crack as she dropped it on the floor...Oh, well. And maybe I should mention that by some great miracle, we didnt get any dye on the carpet. Yay!!

Best Friends

This is L's best friend, Cherstin. They have been best friends for over two years now!!

Thanks to Grandma for all the fun costumes. (They spent all morning in those costumes!)

Building Blocks

L is just starting to get into these blocks, and she made the coolest tower!!
